Dr. Naama Golan

Dr. Naama Golan is the coordinator of the HU CEAEH. She completed her studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem - B.Sc. in Animal Sciences and M.Sc. in Environmental Quality and Natural Resources in Agriculture. Her Ph.D. study was focused on elucidation of the fate and degradation pathways of the recalcitrant pharmaceutical compound carbamazepine by the white rot fungus Pleurotus ostreatus.

Naama's main research interest is human exposure to residues of pharmaceuticals in the environment, their behavior in water and soils and alternative methods for wastewater treatment. She is also interested in researching human bio-monitoring of environmental contaminants of emerging concern.
